Designed with an eye to the \u201csculptural artistry\u201d of the Monza Concept (unveiled in 2013), it is built on the new E2 platform which has delivered weight saving of up to 175 kg in spite of the increase in dimensions (+55 mm in length and +92 mm in wheelbase). While holding on to its three-box body, the proportions of the Insignia therefore become sleeker (the seating is lowered by 30 mm) hence the choice of the new name Insigna Grand Sport.
