The Auris nameplate will be discontinued with the introduction of the New Generation Corolla early 2019. Talking about the design, the new Corolla is a car that has in itself the synthesis of Oriental and European tastes. \u201cThe stance of the car is definitely European, but there is an oriental component in extremely cared and aggressive details. I am talking, for example, about the luminous signature of LED headlights, clearly of Japanese taste\u201d, said to Auto&amp;Design Ian Cartabiano, President and Director of ED2 Design, Toyota Europe Design &amp; Development. The new naming coincides with Corolla adopting the common Toyota New Global Architecture, replacing the current three different platforms. \u201cThere is no better moment than the launch of the upcoming new generation model to re-introduce the Corolla name to our C-segment hatchback and wagon models\u201d, said Dr Johan van Zyl, President &amp; CEO of Toyota Motor Europe.
