Concept of 2016 marked a total revolution for the German manufacturer. The prototype, unveiled at the Paris Motor Show, anticipated the lines of the ID.3, Volkswagen&#8217;s first electric car built on the MEB &#8211; the new platform dedicated to the group&#8217;s zero-emission cars &#8211; introducing new contents essential for the brand: from attention to the environment (CO2 neutral balance by 2050) to mass electrification. &#8220;The ID.3 marks a clean break with the past and a total revolution of the brand,&#8221; says Klaus Bischoff, head of Volkswagen design, &#8220;The breakthrough is also expressed by the debut of a new modern, clear and simple VW logo. The ID.3 is the progenitor of a family cars that will arrive in the coming years following different architectures: Suv, station wagon, shooting brake and even a reinterpretation of the legendary Dune Buggy. &#8220;We designed the ID.3 with a style that never recalled aggression. Its contents are essential but at the same time extremely innovative.
