\u201cThe ID.3 marks a clean break with the past, a 360-degree change, inside and outside\u201d, says Klaus Bischoff, head of design for the Volkswagen<\/a> group. If the exteriors were designed following new stylistic principles for the brand, the same was done for the interiors, beginning with space. It is, in fact, in the passenger compartment where you can enjoy the greatest benefits in terms of comfort and space thanks to the use of the MEB platform, the one dedicated to the German group’s electric cars on which the ID.3 is built.<\/p>\n<\/div>

\u201cThanks to the absence of the thermal propulsive system and voluminous wiring, we managed to obtain the interior space of a vehicle in a higher segment. An example? We moved the 150-mm dashboard forward, by positioning the climate control in the bonnet\u201d, Bischoff continues. The interiors design is completely new. If the logo weren\u2019t on the steering wheel to remind you, it would be difficult to say you were in a Volkswagen. The change occurred in the name of digitalisation: the vehicle\u2019s telematics are controlled by two floating displays: a 10-inch one at the centre of the dashboard and a 6.5-inch one in front of the driver to replace the analogic instrumentation. A large head-up display, which projects information on the windscreen in 3D, is also envisaged. \u201cEverything is oriented towards maximum simplicity. We chose only two chromatic combinations, light or dark with coloured inserts, to make the customer\u2019s choice even easier\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>
