As part of the 88th edition of the 24 Heures du Mans, Peugeot and Total officially launch their Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) project. A new regulation that heralds a new era for the high-end endurance category, embodying the two companies’ energetic transition to the world of electrification. The choice of the LMH category was dictated by several criteria, one of which is that of a certain aerodynamic freedom. This made it possible to create a prototype with a strong French brand identity thanks to the support of the Peugeot Design department, headed by Matthias Hossann<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Peugeot and Total then began development of the hybrid hypercar with an iconic design and electric motors capable of reaching 500 kilowatts of power distributed on four-wheel drive. “The new Le Mans Hypercar category offers an unprecedented and historic opportunity for collaboration between sports and design teams. It fully responds to Peugeot’s need and desire to embody its vision for the future in its next racing car: that of the new electric performance. The appearance of the vehicles will no longer be just the result of wind tunnel sessions, we will have a dedicated space to create a unique, iconic product that combines performance and expressiveness. We intend to make the most of the space offered and are very enthusiastic about this project,” says Matthias Hossann.<\/p>\n<\/div>
