The car&#8217;s cabin is primarily furnished with environmentally friendly materials and fabrics. &#8220;The long wheelbase translates into a new dimension of space. We designed this special environment as a perfect place to recharge: your home away from home,&#8221; says SangYup Lee, Senior Vice President and Head of Hyundai Global Design detail of the Ioniq 5: the centre console will be able to slide back and forth thanks to the car&#8217;s flat floor, making it easier for the driver and passengers to move around. The centre console, which Hyundai calls the &#8220;Universal Island&#8221;, becomes a dynamic element of the cabin. The driver&#8217;s and front passenger&#8217;s seats have footrests that allow passengers to relax, creating a comfortable atmosphere. The seats are upholstered in faux leather, dyed and treated with vegetable oil extractions from linseed. Other soft finishes throughout the cabin include fabrics derived from sustainable fibres such as organic sugar cane components, wool yarns and polymers, as well as material woven from fibres made from recycled PET plastic bottles.
