Genesis, the premium brand of the Hyundai group, has unveiled the X Concept, a prototype of a high-performance, zero-emission grand tourer with highly sporty and elegant lines. “This car embodies the essential elements that Genesis pursues in its designs. Through this model we can read the future of our brand’s design which embodies a progressive and bold spirit,” said Jay Chang, global head of the Genesis brand.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The Genesis X Concept is the brand’s fifth concept car, following the GV80, Essentia and Mint, and embodies its new interpretation of sustainable luxury car design. In particular, the model maximises the use of the “Two Lines” styling element for which Genesis is known. The Two Lines theme, applied to the interior and exterior, including electric charging devices, embodies the design language of future purely electrically driven Genesis models.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

“This prototype can be described as the ultimate vision of athletic elegance, the inherent design language of Genesis,” says SangYup Lee, head of global design at Genesis. “The distinctive theme of the Two Lines and sustainable luxury will be the templates for the futuristic designs and cutting-edge technologies that Genesis will seek to adopt in its future models.”<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The front end features a low but wide silhouette thanks to the combination of the shield-shaped Crest Grille, representing the brand’s inherent dignity and pride, and the headlights that cut across the wheel arch. The side follows the design of the traditional GT model with a long bonnet and short rear end, while at the rear we find a spoiler and headlamps that echo the design of the headlights. The car’s interior features a driver-oriented design with all operating systems and displays facing the driver.
