The Toyota Corolla family is growing. After the hatchback and station wagon, the nameplate now welcomes the all-new Cross to the range. On the heels of what it has done with the Yaris Cross, Toyota gives a more off-road connotation to its C Segment, which on an aesthetic level differs strongly from its wagon and hatchback siblings. In fact, the Corolla Cross almost looks like a model in its own right. At 4.46 meters long, it is positioned exactly halfway between the C-HR and the Rav4, inheriting some of its styling content from them. The front, in fact, is dominated by a large grille with a dark texture that creates a strong contrast with the bodywork. From here the full-led light clusters develop, extending over the fenders.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Clean sides, where black plastic inserts on the fenders, which frame the 18-inch alloy wheels, intervene to give a more “offroad” touch. Simpler is the rear, where the protagonists are the horizontally developed lights with a three-dimensional effect. If the look of the exterior is unprecedented, that of the interior more faithfully echoes the shapes of the other Corolla cars on the list, but with an extra technological touch. This is represented by the digital cluster positioned behind the steering wheel, with customizable graphics, which works in accordance with the infotainment system and it\u2019s operated through the 10-inch touch screen. Its all-new software makes it more responsive and the graphics are also definitely improved.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Under the hood, at the moment, there is only a full-hybrid powertrain consisting of a 2-liter gasoline engine combined with an electric motor on the front axle, to which is added a second 41-hp electric motor for the all-wheel drive version. In both cases the total power output is 197 hp, and powering the electric side is a fifth-generation lithium-ion battery that is 40 percent lighter. Less weight that makes the Corolla Cross pleasant to drive even between curves, all, with real averages close to 20 km\/l.
