Gandini was involved in design from an early age, starting in the field of interior design and then moving on to car design, first at Bertone, eventually becoming its Style Director and working on models that have gone down in history such as the Lamborghini Miura, Ferrari Dino, Lancia Stratos and many others. As an independent designer, he signed collaborations with many car manufacturers such as Renault, Lamborghini, Maserati, Nissan, Toyota and Subaru, among others.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-fullwidth fullwidth-box fusion-builder-row-2 fusion-flex-container has-pattern-background has-mask-background nonhundred-percent-fullwidth non-hundred-percent-height-scrolling\" recently conferred Gandini with an Honorary Degree in Mechanical Engineering, an honour due to his great career and his recent focus on research and innovation, in particular on reinventing the way a car is produced, resulting in a series of patents and inventions from this continuous research. In his last public speech, Gandini urged young people to knowledge and study: &#8216;To achieve something new, you need to know everything that has been done before, you need to know your field, I would say from Leonardo Da Vinci onwards. I am honoured to receive the honorary degree. It is the recognition of a path that began at the age of 16, when, with the money I had been given to buy a Latin book, I bought a mechanics textbook instead, Endothermic Motors by Dante Giacosa.
