Jaguar’s future in a concept car. The British brand presented the Type 00 at Miami Art Week, a car that embodies the British manufacturer’s new creative philosophy and with which the brand’s new stylistic identity makes its debut: among the basic concepts is a return to the \u2018Copy Nothing\u2019 ethos of its founder, Sir William Lyons. The prefix \u2018Type\u2019 is a link to the brand’s origins, to models like the pioneering E-type. The first zero refers to zero tailpipe emissions. The second represents its zero car status in our new lineage. Its visionary design defies electric vehicle conventions with a long bonnet, wide roofline, 23-inch alloy wheels, fastback profile and boat-like tail to create a dramatic silhouette with sophisticated, modernist surfaces.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

\u2018The Type 00 is a pure expression of Jaguar’s new creative philosophy. It has an unmistakable presence. It is the result of bold, unfettered creative thinking and unwavering determination. It is our first physical manifestation and the foundation stone of a new family of Jaguars that will never be seen before. A vision that aims for the highest level of artistic endeavour,\u2019 said Jerry McGovern, Chief Creative Officer of Jaguar Land Rover. Jaguar’s new creative philosophy is based on three fundamental characteristics, expressed in every part of the brand and everywhere it appears, represented by both a new artistic visual identity and the way it builds customer relationships. Exuberant: the new models will be vibrant, uninhibited and fearless. Modernist: the lines will be future-oriented, curious and inspired by the world. The cars will be respectful of the past, but not retro. Compelling: holistic, sensory and extraordinary to generate meaningful connections with customers.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The new confident face combines taut, flush surfaces with new Jaguar branding in the centre. A distinctive front light signature emphasises the car’s corners, giving it breadth and stability. The side profile is dominated by bold proportions, with the Jaguar \u2018leaper\u2019 laser-etched into a hand-finished brass ingot on each side of the car. These ingots open dramatically to reveal the rear cameras which, like the charging ports and front air intakes, remain hidden until needed. The glassless tailgate and panoramic roof convey a sense of sculpturalism. The rear elevation is defined by distinctive horizontal Strikethrough graphics, which conceal the dramatic full-width headlights.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The cockpit features three hand-finished brass lines running its entire length, with a 3.2 metre-long central brass spine dividing a pair of floating instrument panels. Travertine stone supports the floating seats and central spine. It inspires the rich, layered tonal colour palette of the interior. Woven fabrics contribute to a sense of craftsmanship. \u2018The design embraces authentic and unexpected materials and eye-catching colours, with our new creative philosophy visible in every corner.
