Design and engineering company Callum has unveiled the interior of the Skye, a road-going variant of its high-performance, all-wheel-drive, all-terrain electric vehicle. Balancing performance with elegant refinement, the Callum Skye’s<\/a><\/strong><\/span> enclosed 2+2 cabin differs from its competitors in robustness and functionality combined with a sophisticated design, according to the statement. \u201cCapable and robust on the outside, the cabin has been refined to offer a luxurious feel at every touch point,\u201d explains Aleck Jones, Callum’s head of design. \u201cClever design solutions have defined a simple but not simplistic interior, giving it a light, airy and refined feel despite its compactness.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

A key feature of the vehicle is the horizontal bar graphic that runs from front to rear, bisecting the doors. The design team took this strong image and incorporated it inside the cabin, with a bright silver metallic finish that has matching accents on the centre console and steering wheel. \u201cWe had to meet challenging weight targets, so we used lightweight solutions where possible without compromising the luxurious feel,\u201d explains Charlotte Jones, Callum’s colour, materials and trim designer. \u201cInside, the bright silver, premium metallic finish of the doors, dashboard and centre console matches the Callum quality level of our recent Jaguar C-X75 project, with significant savings in essential weight.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

In front are two cosy sports seats upholstered in soft, sumptuous white Bridge of Weir \u2018Arctic Pearl\u2019 leather with a semi-aniline finish, with a matching removable rear seat for children. The bright white leather is complemented by contrasting \u2018Vitamin C\u2019 orange accents. The leather straps on the doors and glove compartment, as well as the steering wheel accents, have been matched to the dominant light colour, while the seats feature detailed double stitching in the same shade. For added vibrancy, Callum’s signature \u2018deconstructed tartan\u2019 has been digitally printed on the leather of the doors, centre console and glove compartment.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
