A new era is beginning for IAAD Turin, one of the leading institutions for training creative minds and home to Italy’s first Transportation Design course. There are two main new developments: Garage IAAD, a space of over 650 square meters that houses new laboratories, and the IAAD Observatory on new technologies and Generative Artificial Intelligence. \u201cWe are enhancing our educational offering and the creative phase. If AI provides a model, the next phase is crucial, in which creatives learn to modify it, even radically, according to requirements,\u201d explains Dario Olivero, coordinator of the Level I Academic Diploma course in Transportation Design, the Master’s in Transportation Design, and the Master’s in Design for Mobility Solutions.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

\u201cThe evolution of AI is incredible, and it is essential for us to create these observatories to monitor and study its changes. In addition to the educational aspect, with this observatory we are also opening up to external companies that want to learn more about AI. They can be companies of any kind,\u201d explains Luca Borgogno, strategic director of the department. \u201cWe are already collaborating with Mahindra and Toyota, and the next step will be to have a company here that can also bring its vehicles and do practical work.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Added to this is the Visionary Tribes week, marking the opening of the academic year: all initiatives made possible thanks to European funding from Next Generation EU, according to the PNRR. The IAAD Garage laboratories opened and the Visionary Tribes project began on December 1st. Until December 5, 2025, to mark the opening of the 2025\/26 academic year, IAAD presents Visionary Tribes, a week dedicated to the theme “The Intelligences of Made in Italy: Hand Intelligence, Social Intelligence, and Artificial Intelligence.” The program includes workshops, conferences, and the first IAAD Hackathon, in which students, mentors, and professionals will collaborate to develop projects that combine these three intelligences. The winning projects will be presented during the opening ceremony of the academic year and will participate in a traveling international exhibition.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

IAAD has also created Visionary Talks, a series of public conferences dedicated to the dialogue between social intelligence, craftsmanship, and artificial intelligence in the world of design. Three days of storytelling and discussion, on December 2, 3, and 4, 2025, at the IAAD Aula Magna at Corso Regio Parco 15, Turin. Each 60-minute meeting will be an opportunity to explore current issues, discover new perspectives, and stimulate discussion between IAAD, professionals, and society on the challenges and opportunities of contemporary design.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
