Polo is instantly recognizable as a Volkswagen compact, although, of course, neither the Volkswagen logo nor any other distinctive markings that might immediately identify the manufacturer are present in this area. Here, too, it is the Pure Positive DNA that defines the design language. It starts with clean proportions: here, the stabilizing element is provided by the straight flanks with the lines between the A-pillar and the C-pillar. For the ID. Polo and the ID. Cross, presented for the first time side-by-side in production versions, Andreas Mindt and his team have developed a completely new rear-end design for Volkswagen. The ID. Polo offers a number of clear advantages in terms of space thanks to the particularly compact drive modules of the MEB+ platform. This gives passengers 19 mm more space than in the standard Polo, a difference that is particularly noticeable in the rear compartment. The new dashboard of the ID. Polo extends seamlessly across the width of the vehicle. The Digital Cockpit (digital instruments) and the infotainment display are arranged along a single visual axis. The Digital Cockpit, with a diagonal of 26.0 cm (10 inches), features brilliant graphics. If the driver activates the retro display using the View button on the steering wheel, the Digital Cockpit displays the instruments from an old Golf I.
