Per i designer di una grande azienda generalista, la creazione di concept car estreme costituisce una via di fuga alla realt\u00e0 quotidiana. Peugeot ha offerto spesso questa opportunit\u00e0 ai suoi designer. Ricordiamo la Quasar (1984), la Proxima (1986), la Oxia (1988) o la 907 (2004) che erano giustificate da un\u2019attivit\u00e0 sportiva ai pi\u00f9 alti livelli. Il prototipo fu concepito per participare al Campionato del Mondo Endurance (WEC) e alla 24 Ore di Le Mans. Certo, alcuni critici hanno insinuato che gli stilisti, relegati ad un\u2019attivit\u00e0 di generalisti e assenti dall\u2019alto di gamma, avrebbero compensato le loro frustrazioni creando una vettura superlativa.
