L\u2019eso-tismo, in fondo, \u00e8 comprensibile. La nuova Dodge Dart, presentata al salone di Detroit, trae la sua origine dall\u2019Alfa Romeo Giulietta, della quale adotta il pianale dovutamente modificato (lo stesso, si dice, che sar\u00e0 usato per la Giulia). Gilles, responsabile del design per il gruppo Chrysler, aveva una delicata responsabilit\u00e0: quella di allestire, in tempi brevissimi, la nuova \u201cpiccola\u201d (in termini americani) di casa Dodge, la prima auto Usa a nascere dalle sinergie con il gruppo Fiat. La Dodge sta cercando di mettere a punto una berlina competitiva per il segmento C, che negli Stati Uniti \u00e8 in grande crescita, per sostituire la Caliber che \u2013 erede dal 2005 della Neon \u2013 in realt\u00e0 \u00e8 un piccolo Suv. L\u2019accordo Fiat-Chrysler offre l\u2019occasione buona. Allargato il pianale di 36 mm e allungato di 69 \u2013 la Giulietta \u00e8 troppo \u201cpiccola\u201d per il mercato americano \u2013 si pu\u00f2 partire con bozzetti, rendering, lavoro virtuale. In cinque mesi si fa, a tappe forzate, quello che abitualmente ne richiede dieci. Definito l\u2019abitacolo, con un concetto strutturale che parte dagli spazi interni, si allestiscono gli esterni. Nessun modellino in scala 1:4, subito due modelli clay in 1:1. E poi avanti con la matematica sui computer.
