With the Manifesto concept, Dacia strongly asserts its vision of an essential, cool, robust, accessible and ecologically performing car. The prototype is a laboratory of ideas, giving rise to a vehicle that is connected with nature, environmentally friendly and enriched with many innovations, some of which will be found in future models in the Dacia range. “As we were developing and exploring new ideas, we felt we needed to push them beyond 3D simulations to see what they look like in real life. Before being a design object, the Manifesto embodies our vision and brings together many innovations,” says David Durand, head of design at Dacia.
There is no filter between the passengers and the environment: there are no doors, no windows, no windscreen. You are totally immersed in nature. And for outdoor activities, what could be better than a worktop that can perform multiple functions, instead of a tailgate? Passengers can stay close to nature while remaining connected to the services offered by their smartphone: simple, high-performance and economical, Dacia’s Bring Your Own Device approach allows the smartphone to be seamlessly integrated with the dashboard and on-board computer. A system already offered on several of the brand’s models and destined to evolve further in the future.
The Concept Manifesto unveils another innovation that will be found in future models: YouClip, a system that makes it very easy to attach a series of useful and modular accessories. Finally, because for Dacia cool and useful go hand in hand, there is a single front light. Why have two if only one is needed to illuminate well? The headlamp is removable to turn into a powerful torch. The Concept Manifesto is waterproof: the interior can be washed with a simple jet of water. The removable seat cover converts into a sleeping bag in seconds. The airless tyres are another innovative element of the vehicle as they focus on ecology and economy. The basic idea is durability: they cannot be punctured and are maintained for the entire life of the vehicle.
