As of March 1st, Joaquin Garcia will be Italdesign Head of Design and will run the creative activities in both the car and product design areas. Joaquin Garcia will replace Carsten Monnerjan who will leave Italdesign on 1 April to take up the position of Head of Design at Porsche Lifestyle Group.
Joaquin, 48, after graduating in Industrial Design from the Cardenal Herrera University in Valencia, received his Master’s degree in Vehicle Design from the Royal College of Arts in London in 1998. Since then he has held high-profile positions of increasing responsibility at Renault, Ford, Škoda and Seat/Cupra before joining Nio’s European Style Centre as Design Studio Director. “I will strive to lead and grow the creative team and to support this great company, pushing it to be more and more a protagonist in the future scenarios of mobility and sustainability. I am aware that this is a very important legacy and I will welcome it with great enthusiasm and passion,’ said Joaquin Garcia.
