Andreas Mindt has been appointed as Volkswagen’s new head of design as of 1 February. Mindt, currently Bentley’s head of styling, succeeds Jozef Kabaň, who has been appointed Creative Art Director at Volkswagen and will report directly to Kai Grünitz, the Volkswagen brand board member responsible for technical development. In his new role at the Volkswagen Group Future Center Europe in Potsdam, Jozef Kabaň will develop future mobility solutions for the German brand.
Andreas Mindt began his career at Volkswagen Group in 1996 after graduating from the Pforzheim University School of Design. Since 2014, he has held various positions at the Volkswagen brand, including working on the design of the first generation Tiguan and the exterior design of the Golf 7. From 2014 to 2021, he led Audi’s exterior design developing models such as the A1, e-tron GT, Q3 and Q8. In 2021, as Director of Bentley Design, he was tasked with defining the British manufacturer’s new design language, inaugurated by the Batur.
