Chris Svensson, Ford Design Director, passed away at the age of 53. According to the website Form Trends, Svensson died on July 21 after a long battle against cancer. His long career led him to design lots of vehicles architectures, from city cars to sports cars and, recently, he was the Ford Global Design Director of Suv, trucks and commercial vehicles.

One of the last cars he worked on with his team was the Ford GT that won the Car Design Award last year. “If compared to the latest concept cars of all the existing brands, the GT remains the most futuristic and represents the image we want to give our brand for the future”, he said during the presentation of the GT at the 2015 Detroit Motor Show. Editor and staff of Auto&Design send sincere condolences to Mr. Svensson’s family.
