Since 1919, the history of Citroën has always been in step with the times, with unconventional vehicles and revolutionaries that over time have become icons in the hearts of motorists. Citroën considers Ami One, the concept car that the French brand is unveiling at Geneva Motor Show, an alternative to public transport (bus, tram, metro) and other means of individual transport on 2 wheels (bike, scooter or scooter). Ami One Concept, ultra-compact 2-seater concept (2.50 m), which allows its occupants to move with great agility in the city, suggests robustness thanks to its morphology.

Its closed cockpit is protected from the elements, for example. Its structure and design, both strongly inspired by function and use, allow us to explore a new driving experience. Accessible to everyone from 16 years (average in European countries, according to the law in force) Ami One Concept is designed for an urban clientele who owns a driving license or not and who shares with the Brand the passion for freedom of movement. The car makes the identity of the brand modern by adopting a new, slimmer, more graphic and more technological lighting signature, directly inspired by the CXperience concept, unveiled in 2016 at Paris Motor Show. The front holds the two levels that come together with a thin, bright V-shaped wire, giving the Ami One Concept an expressive look. The daytime running lights/direction indicators with a floating structure give it a touch of elegance and make the vehicle instantly recognizable.

Born for the city, the body of the car is protected by the Airbump, the dark gray guards, which protect the 4 corners of the body, and continue on the sides, in the lower part of the doors. The protections are details of style designed to enhance its character and offer touches colored in blue. Ami One Concept with an essential profile, shows its ingenious side with a totally symmetrical design. Large, clean-lined doors and an inverted hinged opening mechanism in the rear pillar on the driver’s side improve accessibility on board. Like the front and rear bumpers, the underbody is decorated with a striped pattern, reminiscent of the cooling fins and the historical “double chevron” derived from Citroën gears. Another strong connotation of this object of urban mobility: its convertible configuration, for a fun guide, with hair in the wind. The anthracite gray canvas roof with manual opening is light and easy to use. The sliding hood opens with a single gesture, and closes with a blue strap and a push button.

The original style of the car continues inside. The designers realized an asymmetric position for the driver’s seat and for the passenger’s seat. This allowed to gain space at shoulder level to offer comfort to all occupants. The large seat cushions and headrests are distinguished by the dark blue upholstery, inspired by outdoor furniture, easy to maintain, with orange-colored elastic bands. The perforated and sculpted look of the seatbacks enhances the blue color on the front, combined with the orange on the back. This high-tech workmanship, created by the Plott studio, offers a soft and comfortable seat and creates a graphic pattern with “cubes” that we also find on the gray-colored floor mats. Ami One Concept also offers several storage compartments, rationally distributed in the passenger compartment. Thanks to its new structure, every corner is exploited to the maximum. The design team has created an unprecedented baggage area on the passenger side, which can accommodate a cabin suitcase and a bag.
