Now in its third generation, the BMW X6, has kept intact the physiognomy that confirmed its success. The “propeller brand’s” new SAV has grown in dimensions and acquired some distinctive elements, which further increase its dynamism and presence on the road. Now, in fact, the X6 is 26 mm longer (4935 mm), 15 mm wider (2004 mm), and 6 mm lower (1696 mm) for a sleeker and more dynamic form.
At the front end, the X6 adopts the imposing, double kidney grille that can be backlit, on request, by white-coloured LED that increase its dramatic impact. The LED headlamps can be equipped with new BMW Laserlight technology, with dazzling lights that can illuminate up to 500 m. The fluid, sinuous lines of the bodywork flow to the back end, with the roof that slopes down to become one with the rear window, which is almost positioned horizontally. One, unprecedented element is the pronounced wheel arches that frame the alloy rims. The L-shaped tail lights run almost the whole length of the tailgate and finish along the side, increasing the car’s hefty presence on the road.
Getting on board, you immediately notice that it is more liveable, partly thanks to a bigger wheelbase, which measures 2975 mm. The comfortable interiors, covered in luxury materials and top finishings, add to this, as do the standard sporty seats; the knee pad details; and the digital instrument panel with two 12.3” screens. The back seat is also comfortable and well lit, thanks to the panoramic roof – which has increased in size by 83% compared to the previous generation – and as a result of the adjustable interior lighting in different colours.
