If the news six months ago had been of a virus with the power to trigger an international economic crisis, the talk would all have been about a cyber attack on a global scale. Covid-19, however, has taken us back to our truest dimension, that of human beings without whom the world risks coming to a halt. Right in the midst of the digital age, the focus is thus shifting from the virtual world to our biological nature, putting man back at the centre. And not only in words.

This certainly doesn’t mean that technology has become less important. Applied sciences remain crucial in addressing and overcoming current and upcoming challenges, as those who design vehicles and objects for the not too distant future are well aware.
