Designing a hypercar is the dream of every car design enthusiast, but it is often difficult to approach this activity and some tricks of the trade explained by designers can be very useful. Aston Martin has released a video in which Antonino Lo Re, Lead Exterior Designer of the British sports car brand, reveals step by step how to design the Valkyrie, a hybrid supercar with an extreme design, starting from the blank sheet.
One of the car’s most outstanding features is the large tunnel underneath to facilitate aerodynamics. The air flows are channelled into two large ducts at the bottom of the car and run off the sides and the generous rear extractor, creating a force that crushes it to the ground thanks to the Venturi effect. The styling project is the result of collaboration between Aston Martin’s design centre and the technical management of the Red Bull Formula 1 team.
