Nine centimetres of extra height, distributed over appropriately beefed up forms, and the same taut lines that cross the body of the smaller Ibiza: the latest Spanish creation proposes the classic styling and functionality recipe of urban crossovers, flavoured with the typical ingredients of the last Seat offering. And starting, of course, with a pinch of dynamism.
“We have already worked on the idea of a SUV in FR version for the Ateca, but this time it was a matter of pointing up the verve of a car that is inherently more agile and compact, perfect for returning to the brand’s sporting universe. For us, it was like a toy to play with”, says a satisfied Jordi Font, head of colour&trim. “This is why we have proposed all the content of the younger sister, starting from the seats with Alcantara inserts and colours such as Mystery Blue and Desire Red, plus the contrasting roof in three shades. In addition, we anticipated some trim details that will soon also arrive on the other, such as the strip on the dashboard upholstered in black leatherette with red stitching”.
For those who prefer a more elegant approach, the Excellence trim should do the trick with its specific upholstery, exclusive interior Ice White mouldings (which recall the preciousness of the pearl) and Regal Magenta paintwork for the body. But a smiling Font confesses that, if he were to recommend which Arona to buy, he would go for a Mystery Blue FR with the Pyrenees Grey roof. No coincidence here: he has already ordered it.
