The 2020 Geneva Motor Show has been cancelled due to the coronavirus emergency. The news is a direct consequence of the measure taken by the Swiss Federal Council, which met on 28 February, prohibiting the organisation of events with over 1,000 participants, given the extraordinary nature of the moment and the law on epidemics.
According to the organizers of the kermesse elevetica the event from 5 to 15 March would have brought together more than 500,000 people, without considering the insiders. “The Federal Council is aware that the measures taken will have a major impact on the population of our country. They will, however, enable people in Switzerland to be effectively protected and public health to be protected. The aim is to contain the spread of the coronavirus in Switzerland”, says the press release.
