Volvo Cars announces the arrival of two new members to its global design team: Claudia Braun and Thomas Stovicek. Claudia Braun joins Volvo Cars after a stint at Daimler Benz and will be the new Vice President of Design responsible for Colours and Materials for the Swedish manufacturer. Her role includes responsibility for establishing strategic direction with regard to the choice and use of colours and materials for the interior of Volvo and Polestar brand cars.
Claudia Braun has extensive experience in the area of high-end car design. At Daimler, she was responsible for the choice of colours and fittings for the Mercedes, AMG and Maybach brands and had previously played an important role in the design of shades and fittings at Porsche. Thomas Stovicek comes from Facebook and joined Volvo Cars two years ago. He was recently called on by Volvo Cars to head up the Design division’s area of user experience (UX) and user interaction with the brand. In his role, Thomas oversees the development of all digital interactions that customers can have with the Volvo brand and the Company, whether in the car, through the Volvo Cars website or an app. Thomas Stovicek recently oversaw the update of the Volvo Cars website, the launch of which is imminent.
