Matthias Hossann is the new head of Peugeot design from July 28th. The designer succeeds Gilles Vidal who has held the same position in Peugeot since 2010 and has been in the PSA group for 25 years. Vidal thanked the team and said he was “ready for new adventures that will always follow automotive horizons”. Matthias Hossann, 40, after a short experience as interior designer in the Volkswagen group has always worked for the French group: after graduating at design school Strate, near Paris, he joined the group’s design centre in 2002.
Afterwards he held various positions also at international level such as the five years experience gained at the Design Center in Shaghai during which he worked for all the brands of the PSA group. Since 2013, Hossann has been responsible for the Concept Cars & Advanced Design department at Peugeot, working at numerous projects including the E-Legend Concept. “I am delighted to entrust this new assignment to one of the most talented designers of his generation who has illuminated the future of the Peugeot brand and who will now be able to put his talent at the service of all customers,” said Jean Pierre Ploué, head of PSA Groupe design.
