Koichi Suga, Lexus Design General Manager, explains how to design the Lexus LC 500 coupé. “As a designer, drawing has always been a fundamental skill for me, and I liked the level of creativity it allows. People think the skill is unique and specialised, but I tell them that anyone can learn to draw and appreciate it as a wonderful free-form expression. Regardless of style or skill level, there are very good emotional and mental benefits that I feel people can get from any creative expression,” says Koichi Suga. “Even though I have been involved in vehicle design for decades, I still find the design as pleasant and relaxing as when I first imagined vehicles when I was at school”.
