Smooth surfaces and a total absence of edges define the volumes of the Lucid Air, an electric saloon and the first model of the Californian brand founded in 2007 by Bernard Tse and Sam Weng to make batteries and electric motors for cars, which decided to become a manufacturer in 2016. Elegant and dynamic, the Lucid Air was designed by the team of Derek Jenkins. In a video posted on the manufacturer’s YouTube channel, members of the style centre talk about the genesis of the brand, the styling principles it is inspired by and the birth and features of the first model.

“When I think of Lucid, I see the great opportunity we had to take a step back from the classic automotive industry to rewrite a new chapter in mobility that starts with a new approach to car design. With this in mind we have built a new brand with ideas and content that looks ahead to the next 30 or 40 years,” says Derek Jenkins.
