The Mercedes family of electric vehicles grows with the arrival of the EQA, the younger sister of the EQC, which extends the electric vehicle user base of the brand while maintaining the premium standards typical of Mercedes. Produced on the same platform as the GLA, it preserves the proportions of the endothermic engine version, differentiating itself from this with the design that is in line with the stylistic language of the EQ sub-brand that debuted with the EQC. The front end is, in fact, dominated by the large grille with a shiny black finishing that also encompasses the LED light units, connected by a luminous strip that stretches from one side of the vehicle to the other.

The same stylistic approach was also reserved for the rear light units with full-width extension, connected, in this case too, by distinctive LED lights that traverse the wide tailgate. The stylistic interventions in the interiors are much more limited. These concentrate on the special weave for the seats and a new finishing for the part of the dashboard in front of the passenger. For the rest of the passenger compartment, it offers the same shapes and the same features as the GLA.

Only the user experience of the MBUX system is slightly different. Via the double 10.25” screen, this system offers information that is useful to the electric drive with dedicated graphics. The use of a modular platform also made it possible to adopt a 100% electric powertrain without affecting the proportions and volumes of the vehicle. Driving the EQA is a 190 HP and 375 NM electric motor that is fed by a 66.5kWh batter that ensures a driving range of 426 km.

The powertrain of the new EQA, on the other hand, consists of a 66.5 kWh battery that feeds a 190 CV and 375 NM electric motor, which allow the German electric car to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds and to reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h. The range sits at 426 km and six hours are needed to recharge the battery from an 11 kW wallbox. If, instead, it is connected to a 100-kW charging station, it restores 80% of the battery capacity in 30 minutes.
