Kia has released the first images of the EV5 mid-size SUV that will hit the Chinese market by the end of the year. There is currently no detailed technical information about the model, which is based on the Hyundai-Kia group’s E-Gmp platform.
The Kia EV5 continues the styling course inaugurated by the EV6 and more recently by its bigger sister EV9, a seven-seat SUV that we had the chance to preview in Seoul, South Korea. Designed by the team headed by Karim Habib, the EV5 has a minimalist interior clad in recycled materials and two large floating screens for instrumentation and infotainment. The absence of a C-pillar and the folding door opening allows the seats to swivel outwards, creating a view of the landscape.
