A single line, running through the profile, from the tip of the nose to the integrated light blade at the rear. A simple gesture from a creative mind is the origin of the design behind Emeya, the electric Hyper-GT from Lotus. A single line has inspired the sports car’s volumes, proportions and design and is intended to echo the aesthetics of Lotus’ iconic mid-engined models, transporting them into the future and emphasising their dynamism.
Founded in 1948, the Lotus brand became famous for its performance-oriented, agile and fun-to-drive two-seaters, including the Elite, Elan, Esprit, Elise, Evora and, most recently, Emira. Now the brand is being transformed. Emeya draws its inspiration from Lotus’ 75-year history of sports cars, with the exterior lines creating a powerful musculature and a single ultra-thin LED running along the rear. Ben Payne, Vice President of Design at Lotus, said: “By combining cutting-edge technology with an aesthetic that draws on the past, Emeya takes us into the future, propelling Lotus into a new segment of the automotive landscape.
