Those who love delving into the extravagance on wheels will find an authentic paradise in the rich volume crafted by the designer and tuner Andy Saunders. Across the 464 pages of the book, he carefully describes around sixty of his most bizarre projects. Inspiration, creativity and not a little irony accompany the story of the conception and birth of these cars, of which over two thirds today belong to important collections or museums. Others are considered authentic milestones, such as the Flat Out, awarded in the Guinness Book of Records with the title of “lowest car in the world”.
In the rewiew you not only find cars lengthened or shortened, lowered, customized or decorated in an eccentric way, but also “simple” restorations carried out with care and respect. And again, creations that were used for films or videos, special setups (including some camperisations), replicas, experiments, prototypes. The very rich photographic set – over 1000 images almost entirely in color – generously shows not only the “before” and “after” of each work, but also the context and above all the inspiration that guided this four wheels artist. In the final part, there is no shortage of bibliographical references to magazines and media that have dedicated articles to some of the illustrated cars and even a section which indicates where they went one by one
