Hispano Suiza, a Spanish brand with over a century of history behind, celebrates 120 years since its birth with a new version of the electric hypercar Carmen. Its name is Hispano Suiza Carmen Sagrera and it is characterized by a more racing vocation. Designer Francesc Arenas explains the idea behind the project: “With the Carmen, which arrived in 2019, we wanted to create an exclusive sports car that combined performance and elegance, drawing on the Company’s heritage. Today, with the Carmen Sagrera, we are addressing an audience more attracted by the world of racing, without denying those values that have characterized the brand since the early years of the last century”.

The car has numerous exclusive details. On the front there is a new grille with a black finish and a new bumper with carbon splitter which increases the aerodynamic load. Then, there are additional air vents on the front fenders, new air intakes on the sides, necessary to cool all the electronic components positioned behind the cockpit and, last but not least, a striking double wing.

“It is a highly distinctive element of the Sagrera – says Arenas – It has the dual function of keeping the rear glued to the ground and making the car immediately recognizable compared to the rest of the range. It is inspired by our symbol, the Flying Stork, and is doubled to recall the wings of a bird”. The Sagrera has new alloy wheels with dedicated Michelin tires (they feature a graphic motif on the side that refers to the brand) and the decals that run along the side.

The Hispano Suiza Carmen Sagrera also introduces a series of mechanical innovations such as the new 103 kWh battery that powers 4 electric motors, all at the rear, capable of discharging 1,115 HP to the ground. The car also features a heavily redesigned interior, with a new central tunnel topped by a large touchscreen from which the entire infotainment system is controlled.
