Hyundai has unveiled the Ioniq 9, an all-electric SUV with three rows of seats, ample interior space, and a fusion of cutting-edge design and innovative electric vehicle technology. The model’s elegant ‘Aerosthetic’ exterior, derived directly from the Ioniq 7 concept car, reflects the brand’s commitment to fusing aerodynamic innovation with sophisticated, futuristic styling. The front end features a band of full-width Pixels integrated into the LED lighting units and lower fascia, creating a unique and sophisticated image.
The designers have paid special attention to aerodynamics by developing a silhouette with a smooth, curved roofline that contributes to a low coefficient of air resistance (Cx) of only 0.25: a rather unique figure given the size of the vehicle and achieved thanks to elements such as the digital mirrors or the vertical tail. Turning to the interior, the designers have introduced swivelling second-row seats, while the curved panoramic display, floating dashboard, slim air vents and customisable interior lighting enhance the futuristic feel of the cabin.
The completely flat floor contributes to comfort and allows occupants to move around more easily. The Relaxation seats in the first and second rows can recline fully and offer leg rests, allowing up to four people to rest while recharging the vehicle, which has a 110 kWh battery and a claimed range of 610 kilometres on a full tank of energy. Passengers will also find the Universal Island 2.0 centre console that can be moved up to 190 millimetres, allowing second-row passengers easy access. The console also offers 5.6 litres of storage space in the upper tray as well as 12.6 litres of storage space in the lower sliding tray.
