Two of the key models in the Subaru range, the Suv Forester and XV crossover, have been given a makeover for 2016 based on a safety-oriented technical layout that includes the Symmetrical all-wheel drive (AWD) system, boxer engine and Lineartronic continuously variable transmission. Identified today as The Conqueror, the Forester is an evolution of the fourth series presented in 2013 (the original model incidentally dates back to 1997). It catches the eye externally for its Led headlights, the revisited grille and wing-shaped elements, the modified lower part of the bumper, and the new two-colour alloy wheels (17 or 18”) that lend the vehicle dynamism and elegance. Internally it offers superior finish with soft materials that are pleasant to the touch, aluminium trim underlining the dash, a redesigned multi-function steering wheel, a new 7” Lcd touch screen, leather or fabric upholstery. Worth a mention is the new Subaru Starlink infotainment system with 7” touch display and the wealth of safety features including EyeSight drive assist.
The XV was born in 2012 and its “Urban Explorer” ID underlines the concept of metropolitan vehicle with a passion for adventure. The present incarnation revisits the headlights, grille, rear lights and spoiler and also proposes 17” two-colour alloy wheels. The cabin boasts a new steering wheel, orange stitching, improved front seats, new upholstery and the Starlink infotainment system similar to that on the Forester. A fun, efficient and safe drive is guaranteed by both these vehicles. By virtue of its more off-road layout, the Forester can indulge in challenging excursions off the beaten track.
