Matt Weaver has been promoted to Infiniti EMEA design director, replacing Simon Cox. In his new role, he is focused on bringing Infiniti to the forefront of the European Premium automotive market and achieving Infiniti’s global goals.

British-born Matthew Weaver joined Nissan Design in 2001. Being part of the key design team supporting Nissan Europe, Matthew designed the first Qashqai Concept in 2003.

Although based mainly at the London Design Studio, Matthew has spent considerable periods of time following project work at the Nissan Global Design Centre in Atsugi, Japan. In 2009, he designed the exterior of the Qazana concept car and, going forward, supported the design of Nissan Juke in 2010.

In 2014, Matthew was appointed Creative Design Manager for exteriors at the new London-based Infiniti Design Studio. Since then, Matthew has influenced some of Infiniti’s key concepts and products, such as the Q80 Inspiration concept, which was shown at Paris Motor Show in 2014 and the QX30 concept car, which was world premiered at Geneva Motor Show in 2015.
