Respect for the environment and technology with a particular focus on ergonomics and driver comfort. These are the highlights of the Iveco Daily E6 (Euro6) range: the most recent advance in the evolution of a family of work vehicles dating back to 1978 that has sold 2.8 million units worldwide and that has always demonstrated a marked “business instinct”, backed by major innovations. For example the independent front suspension of the first series; the use of common-rail fuel supply on the second of 1999; the huge growth in content of the third of 2014, which also received the “Van of the Year 2015” award.
The Daily E6 is produced in a range of more than 8 thousand variations in van, semi-windowed, chassis cab, crew cab, chassis-cowl and minibus versions. The new four-cylinder Multijet II 2.3 and 3.0 engines are obviously its calling card, able to guarantee fuel savings of up to 8% and contribute to a 12% reduction in maintenance costs. Both engines come with a 6-speed manual gearbox and can be combined with the up-to-the-minute 8-speed automatic Hi-Matic.
Technical developments are expressed externally in embellishments to the horizontal grille (styling has been left unchanged compared to the range presented in 2014) and improvements to the quality of life on board. The quieter cab (-4 dB) accommodates a new leather steering wheel, blue seat upholstery and new textile foam headrests. The layout has been redone and now offers as many as eighteen strategically located storage compartments. Also worth mentioning is the vehicle’s advanced connectivity, with the professional navigator Sygic and the new Daily Business UP system which uses an app and the new digital audio broadcasting (DAB) to allow the driver to use his smartphone or tablet to communicate with the vehicle.
