Saic, China’s largest vehicle manufacturer, will reintroduce the MG brand in Europe within the next few years. MG will be relaunched in continental markets from late 2019. The global debut of the MG E-motion Concept car at the Auto Shanghai motor show provides a future vision for the brand.
Exhibiting dynamic and elegant proportions with a classic gran turismo sportsback style, the E-motion concept pays homage to MG’s one hundred-year heritage in a contemporary package. The front grille houses a striking LED starlight matrix design with headlamps incorporating design elements of the London Eye ferris wheel, while the vertically-oriented LED rear light clusters exude a simple timeless aesthetic.
Under the skin, the MG E-motion is equipped with a series of “black technologies”. Saic’s new pure electric modular platform helps the car accelerate to 100 km/h in under four seconds, while also delivering a range of over 500 km.
