The new Land Rover Defender will be presented on September 10 at the next Frankfurt Motor Show and will be offered in three versions. The variants will include an eight-seater version, while a large number of customisations available for customers. “The new Defender will be absolutely extraordinary and equal to its predecessor”, assures Massimo Frascella, responsible for the exterior design of the Jaguar Land Rover Group.
Here are the three variants. Defender 90 with three doors: it will be offered with five and six seats and will grow in length up to 4,323 mm instead of the 4,000 mm of the previous generation. Defender 110 with five doors: it can accommodate up to seven people with a total width of 4.75 metres. Defender 130 with five doors: this variant will be approved for eight seats and 5.10 metres long. The first generation of the Land Rover Defender has been sold in more than 2 million units, becoming a true off-road icon due to its essential and squared design.
After 67 years, production stopped in 2016. The 90 and 110 variants will be on sale next year, the 130 will arrive about 12 months later. The new model will be the first Defender in history with a self-supporting aluminium body and independent suspension. According to Automotive News Europe, there will be four different equipments: Country, Adventure, Urban and Explorer.
