Jorge Díez has been appointed as the new head of Seat design with effect from 1 December 2020. Díez has 20 years of experience in international design. Between 2011 and 2014 he led the Exterior Design area of Seat, as well as working at Audi and Volkswagen headquarters in Germany. In his new role, he will report to Werner Tietz, Executive Vice President Research and Development at the Spanish manufacturer.
In his previous role he co-authored the new generations of Leon, Ibiza and Ateca. At Audi, he was responsible for the design of the second generation Audi TT coupé and the first Audi A7. After seven years at Audi in Ingolstadt, he joined the Seat exterior design team in 2008. In 2010, he was appointed senior designer at Volkswagen, in Wolfsburg, to move back to Seat as head of exterior design. In 2014, Díez returned to Munich as Audi’s Automotive Konzept Design, working on projects for the Audi, Lamborghini and Ducati brands. In 2017, he was promoted to the role of Audi’s Studio 4 Exterior Design. Since July 2019, Jorge Díez has been Vice-President of Mitsubishi Motors Design Europe.
