Andreas Mindt has been appointed as Bentley’s new head of design. The designer will take up his new role from 1 March 2021. Mindt succeeds Stefan Sielaff, who is leaving the company after almost six years to become the number one design director at the Chinese Geely Group. Mindt will be based at Bentley’s headquarters in Crewe, UK, and will lead a team of around 50 designers working across exterior, interior, colour and trim, concept and showcar design.
With more than 25 years of experience in automotive design, all within the Volkswagen Group, prior to this promotion Andreas Mindt was responsible for Audi’s interior design for around six years and was responsible for the styling of all of the premium manufacturer’s latest models, included the Q8 and 100% electric e-tron SUVs. Before joining Audi, Mindt spent more than 15 years in the Volkswagen design department at the company’s headquarters in Wolfsburg. “Bentley is a global brand with a long history and a strong design presence. We want to visibly continue this history in the era of automotive change,” commented Klaus Zyciora, head of design at Volkswagen Group.
