Bigger, more modern and more engaging than previous generations. The new Škoda Fabia is new from top to bottom. A few weeks after production of the fourth generation began at the Mladá Boleslav plant, Oliver Stefani – Škoda’s head of design – outlines the Fabia’s highlights and talks about his favorite details, while also examining the influence the brand’s history has had on its work.
“The Fabia is much more dynamic and adult than previous generations. It’s a contemporary and elegant car that stirs emotions thanks to its renewed shapes and proportions. The interior puts the passengers at the center, through ergonomic simplicity and above-average roominess,” Stefani says.
And when you ask him what details of the new model differentiate it most from the previous generation, he responds confidently: “We have created a number of captivating details, from the subtle light clusters to the aggressive lines, from the LED modules reminiscent of ice crystals to the hood animated by striking ribbing to the profile of the roof that slides down towards the rear. On the front doors, the lines of the sheet metal stylize the typical shape of the flag of the Czech Republic. Inside, round air intakes and soft materials, including textile details, give the cabin a striking look.”
