Lotus anticipates with a teaser the first electric SUV in its history to debut in 2022. The British manufacturer of the Geely galaxy has released a frontal image of the Type 132 showing the front grille and some carbon inserts. The E-segment SUV will be produced in Wuhan, China, and was designed by the team led by Russell Carr, Lotus design chief since 2014, and is part of the Vision 80 program.
The plan calls for four more new 100% electric models to be unveiled by 2028: the Type 133 high-performance sedan, the Type 135 sports coupe by 2026 and the Type 134 full-size SUV in 2025. Each car will be based on the Lotus Premium Architecture platform for electric cars. The British manufacturer has announced the use of two types of high-voltage 92- or 120-kilowatt-hour batteries for a range of more than 500 kilometers.
