Tape art is identified as a form of street art, evolved from graffiti art, which involves the creation of works of art through the use of adhesive tape of various types. To allow creatives to get more in touch with the shapes of the G90 flagship, the Genesis design team wanted to recreate the sedan using tape art exclusively.
Thus, the designers of the Korean premium brand were confronted with a complicated technique, but one that reportedly allows for a better perception of the car’s volumes and shapes in a defined space within the Genesis style center. The front of the G90 includes a new grille with crest and polished Two-Line headlights, while the Crest Grille design at the front has been updated with two new G-Matrix patterns overlapping to create a three-dimensional effect.
The parallel-line Two-Line headlights, positioned on either side of the grille, are the thinnest ever seen on a Genesis model. The headlamps’ streamlined design was made possible by equipping the lens of the DRLs (Daytime Running Lights), turn signals, high beams and low beams with Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology. The profile is defined by a line that starts from the hood and flows seamlessly to the rear, while at the rear the lights are full-width.
