Gac has unveiled the Emkoo, a mid-size SUV that heralds a new styling philosophy for the Japanese manufacturer defined by sharp lines, dynamism and high-tech details. Radically different from the other models unveiled so far by Gac, the Emkoo offers, according to what has been declared, a glimpse into the future of the brand. The front end is defined by new LED headlamps that sit at the end of the grille that follows a V shape. The radial bars of the grille feature some layered light strips, a metaphor for time and space.
The profile of the Emkoo, on the other hand, was inspired by the shape of a curved bow to create the impression of a certain power, just as energy is about to be released just before the release and departure of the arrow. The rear light, called “Quantum Lightsabers”, is split and vertical and the LEDs from which it is composed form a red crescent. At the rear we find a spoiler to increase aerodynamic efficiency and, further down, two exhaust pipes with a vertical development design.
The designers have sought for the interior design clean lines and a certain formal order. The dashboard is dominated by a large high-resolution display that not only controls the infotainment system, but also other functions such as climate control. The digital instrumentation has been installed in front of the driver, while the style center has opted for the almost complete elimination of physical controls.
The Gac Emkoo exclusive web design story will be published in May.
