Gac presents the M8, a flagship MPV designed for long journeys in great comfort. The body was designed following the ‘Space Diamond’ styling philosophy, which focuses on horizontal lines and distinctive elements such as the imposing vertical front grille called ‘Soaring Wings 2.0’.
The design team led by Zhan Fan sought an overall sculptural and multi-faceted volume layout to create the effect of a diamond projecting and refracting light and shadow. The profile, where we find the ever-present sliding door, runs swiftly towards the rear where we find the full-width lights with the outermost elements pointing downwards.
At 5.21 metres long, 1.89 wide, 1.82 high and with a wheelbase of 3 metres, the M8 is available with a full hybrid or plug-in propulsion system, both of Toyota origin. Given the type of vehicle, special attention was paid to the design of the interior, in search of a luxurious atmosphere that would increase comfort inside the seven-seat cabin.
The work of the designers also turned to the search for a play of light that flows throughout the cabin, while the upholstery is available in two colour pairs: red-black or white-black. The first combination takes its inspiration from oriental simplicity and western elegance, the second is inspired by Baiyun Mountain and the Pearl River, the two most famous natural attractions of Guangzhou, Gac’s home city.
