Now in its third generation since 2009, the Bmw X1 has been completely revamped in its exterior and interior design without losing that SUV flair with particularly dynamic styling that has always distinguished it. The design team led by Domagoj Dukec has reserved for this generation a large double kidney grille (closed in the iX1 electric version), slim LED headlights and sculpted surfaces for a certain character. At the rear, the roofline is rather long and ends in a rear window partly hidden by the spoiler, while flared wheel arches give the X1 a sporty air.

The interior layout follows that inaugurated by the 2 Series Active Tourer MPV, based on the same platform as the X1. At the centre of the dashboard are two curved displays for instrumentation and infotainment in 10.25 and 10.7 inches, while further down the console has been transformed into a floating armrest with controls for the infotainment system on the outside.
