Lotus has announced that its collaboration with British Cycling will continue with the development of a new track bike for the British team riders for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. The division of the company providing this and other consultancy work is Lotus Engineering, which regularly uses the Lotus design department based in Hethel, Norfolk.
“Our goal is to design classy, eye-catching and commercially successful products that are beautiful, visually innovative and reflect the customer’s needs and express their core values,” said Barney Hatt, Head of Advance and Consultancy Design, who previously worked on special client programmes, developing the Tesla Roadster. During more than three decades of work, Russell Carr, Director of Design at Lotus, has also been involved in numerous consultancy projects: “As with the track bike for British Cycling, we are able to apply the experience we have gained in the automotive sector to other forms of mobility. Aesthetics are crucial to the success of a product, but we work in synergy with engineers to achieve the perfect balance between form and function: product design and engineering integrity”.
