BMW has unveiled the Concept Touring Coupé at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2023. The two-seater, developed for production in a single unit, is claimed to be a timeless symbol of freedom on four wheels. The BMW design team led by Domagoj Dukec reimagined the traditional body shape of an elegant sports car with shooting brake bodywork. “The Concept Touring Coupé celebrates true driving pleasure,” says Dukec. “A highly emotional vehicle like this proves that passion for all things driving pleasure has been essential throughout the ages and will remain so in the future.”
If the front end recalls the BMW Z4 in everything, the side view shows the shooting brake body. The long bonnet, aerodynamic roofline and powerful rear section form a characteristic hatchback design, while the elongated side window graphics with the classic Hofmeister elbow and flared rear wheel arches emphasise the sportiness. The Sparkling Lario exterior paint was created especially for this model and has blue glass flakes with grey-brown tones that lend a certain depth to the volumes.
In the interior, Poltrona Frau leather upholstery creates a luxurious atmosphere. The compartment behind the seats offers ample space to stow luggage in case of a weekend away. The hand-stitched and woven leather straps for the seat edges emphasise the handcrafted character of the interior. High-quality workmanship and attention to detail also characterise the luggage designed exclusively for the BMW Concept Touring Coupé by the Schedoni leather goods company from Modena. The customised set consists of two large and one small travel bag, plus one for clothing, all coordinated with the vehicle.
